Refurbishment of a 1970s end terraced 3-bedroom house.  A high level of sustainable refurbishment was required within a tight budget to deliver an exemplar building as an exhibition house for Fareham Borough Council and First Wessex.

SRE developed a Sustainability Route Map outlining progressive levels of refurbishment and associated energy savings and relevant standards achieved to enable a cost-benefit analysis to be undertaken by the Project Team.  The site is one of only sixteen being assessed as part of a national pilot for the new BREEAM Refurbishment methodology, with SRE supporting BRE in establishing the technical guidance.
