SRE provides bespoke Energy Strategies and Statements to accompany both outline and detailed planning applications in response to local and regional policy standards. The reports can also be tailored to comply with and support environmental assessment requirements including BREEAM and Zero Carbon Hub standards.

An Energy Strategy provides an outline of how a development could address energy efficiency measures, clean energy supply and low-carbon/renewable energy technologies as part of the site-wide energy and infrastructure provision. Energy Statements provide detailed calculations for base-line energy use, an assessment of energy efficiency measures and analysis of suitable on-site low carbon and renewable energy technologies to minimise CO2 emissions and operating costs.

An Energy Strategy is also used to inform the master planning process and capital investment programme and ensures a coherent approach to energy and carbon emissions. This is especially useful if a development is being constructed in multiple phases.

SRE is continually researching innovative technologies, systems and materials to remain up to date with the latest technological developments, as well as the most recent changes to environmental and planning policy.

SRE has extensive experience of responding positively and strategically, on behalf of clients, to planning requirements asking for detailed Energy Statements.
