Exhibition House was designed to showcase innovative and less conventional technological solutions for reducing energy and water use. The house comprises a number of unique features to both showcase and support the deliverability of CSH Level 5 in the Whitehill and Bordon Eco Town, including an inter-seasonal heat store supplied by solar water heating, a trombe wall to heat the dwelling using energy from the sun and a winter garden for natural daylight and useable open space. SRE was involved in support of the detailed design and construction process, modelling the energy use and assessing CSH Level 5. SRE also undertook post construction monitoring in which all aspects of the housing performance were monitored, analysed and compared to the predicted performance.
