Hatch Farm is a residential development of 85 homes in Eastleigh comprising a mix of social rent, shared ownership and private sale units on a green field site. SRE provided pre-planning advice and building performance modelling to ensure the scheme addressed the Local Authority sustainability planning policy requirements including Passivhaus. A total of 79 units are being built to CSH Level 4, with five units being built to Passiv Haus and CSH Level 5 standards. The site will incorporate ecological enhancements, sustainable transport measures, excellent fabric performance and on-site renewable energy (PV Panels) on each unit. SRE ensured the scheme adopted excellent sustainability measures within the design and therefore robustly addresses the required environmental standards during planning.

‘We have worked with SRE on numerous projects over the past six years and have found their knowledge and expertise to be both broad and useful. SRE’s early input has assisted in developing solutions to the problems faced in producing Code 3 and 4 compliant developments. We have found the personnel at SRE to be very approachable and helpful offering advice and assistance where required, and we would have no hesitation in recommending their services to others in the challenging arena of Code and SAP assessment.’
