A large scale development in Aldershot, Hampshire required to meet Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. Consisting of 213, one, two and three bed houses and flats, phases 3, 4, and 6a of the Northtown Scheme presented a serious challenge to all involved, to create a sustainable yet cost effective development whilst meeting all Planning Policy Requirements. SRE, with assistance from the development and design teams, undertook detailed energy modelling on all units within the scheme to ensure CSH Level 4 compliance as well as ensuring 10% of the total CO2 from the site is offset through Low Carbon sources.
