EcoHomes Assessments

EcoHomes provides a nationally recognised benchmark for the environmental performance of residential buildings. An EcoHomes Assessment looks at energy; transport; pollution; materials; water; ecology and heating. It aims to balance environmental performance with the need for a high quality of life and a safe and healthy internal environment.

SRE, an experienced licensed EcoHomes Assessor Organisation, advises clients building to EcoHomes standards on the most cost-effective measures, thereby ensuring that the highest rating can be achieved for the lowest capital costs.

EcoHomes is the residential version of the BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) and can be applied

to both new homes and those being renovated. It forms the basis for the new Code for Sustainable Homes being published during 2007.

SRE also provides independent and professional advice on BREEAM and on EcoHomes XB, the environmental self assessment tool for existing housing.
