Commendation, Best New Building, The Portsmouth Society Design Awards 2013

A £1m state-of-the-art research laboratory building built by Kier for the University of Portsmouth, designed by a collaboration between Re-Format and C.F. Møller Architects. The building has an aquarium floor including five individual aquarium rooms and a quarantine room.

The Institute of Marine Sciences has been awarded a ‘Commendation’ for ‘Best New Building’ in the Portsmouth Society Design Awards 2013. The scheme was acknowledged for its ‘originality and quality of design with a high standard of build and built with a view to sustainability’.
