Nikita Pevnev

I am the Building Physics Director at SRE, a Chartered Engineer (CEng MCIBSE), and a certified Low Carbon Energy Assessor. With over twenty years' of experience in sustainable design and environmental performance in the built environment, my expertise includes thermal modelling, daylight optimisation, TM54 operational energy assessments, and Net Zero carbon strategies.

I hold a Master's degree in Sustainability and Design from the University of East London and a Diploma in Architecture from Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering. My background spans architecture and engineering, and I specialise in integrating passive design, climate-responsive strategies and energy performance into multidisciplinary project teams - both in the UK and internationally.

I am particularly interested in adaptive reuse, passive design-led masterplanning, and the circularity of building materials. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, collecting vinyl records and repairing ceramics using traditional Japanese kintsugi techniques.
